Including, I noticed, my own on the 2009 thread, although I wasn't a member of this forum at the time.
A mate of mine just emailed me thus:

Your car but considering the individual posted also claims to own a Corsa and Rover HSE it doesn�t sound like you at all? looks like someone wannabe claiming ownership of your life mate :O Scary part is next page the same person posts again and shows a pic of your missus car!"
Naturally I had a look and sure enough, my car (and the wife's) in pictures no doubt stolen from the Audi A5 owners' club site.
Thought I'd let you know in case anyone is thinking of placing trust in this individual ('Mac.') - you may want to think twice.
I'm actually pretty glad we don't have either car any more - bit scary to see what some people will actually do!

Huh....so VM Ware finally got their act together; and its only pre-register for a future upcoming beta.
....you know, I'd have to say they dropped the ball on this one.
parallels not only did the public beta first, they released a final product a full month before VMWare announced beta.....and is in the Apple Store, office depot, staples.... heck, its even in Apple's TV commercials.....
VMWare might use to have had a good edge, but I think they lose out on the Mac oppurtunity.....

what really happened is about 5-10 people unfortunately got a defective unit, then freaked out, and called all the news sites around, so they can tell the world how mad they were about there product, that they surly got a free replacement model.
Well I guess that I would be one of the 10 people because my iPad 2 has a light bleeding issue and I called AppleCare today about it. I was told that my serial number was part of a bad batch and they would replace my iPad without question but they could not guarantee a perfect unit at this time and that Apple is aware of the issue and is investigating it. I only talked to the guy for about one minute and was told that Apple was looking into this so I am guessing that more than 10 people have an issue.

I think it's ridiculous to not put a Core 2 Duo chip into the Mini. While I'm not waiting for Merom, to upgrade one of your machines with a faster version of the same soon-to-be-out-of-date chip is silly.

guys i think you're being too hard on zune. play with one. it's not THAT bad. it's ugly, but the interface isn't bad at all. I don't plan on buying a zune (my ipod is fine and i'm waiting on a video pod), but it's good to have it in the marketplace for competition sake. maybe apple will actually pay attention to some of the features like the built in radio tuner which is a nobrainer...
I played with it in a Target over the weekend. It IS THAT bad. I agree with the competition aspect, but the the things comes off clunky and akward...

From everything I can tell, the movie trailers in Front Row are 480p.
I don't think Apple would want to go below this movie trailer quality. Let's HOPE they don't want to. :)
480p would be impressive to sell at $10 and $15 IMHO. To get it delivered directly to your computer in 2-3 hours. Remember, 480p could look better than a DVD, since DVDs are 480i. Of course, it would look better unless they end up putting too much compression on the 480p.

Go to Sharing preference pane, enable the Firewall, click Advanced, and enabling Firewall Logging.
Your wish just came true. All blocked intrusions are now logged for your perusal.
I think he means more like XP SP2 / Vista. They have a Security Center which gives you your firewall settings, antivirus (if installed) and spyware protection (if installed). Its nice to have it all in one place, no one wants to go digging thru logs, you are crazy.... LOL

If people still drive to the video store to rent movies, then why are Blockbuster et al. going out of business? Everyone I know uses Netflix, not stores, nowadays, unless they don't have a computer, in which case iTunes is not their target market anyway.
Then you can't know that many people, I think you're forgetting there are still people outside of the US, and over here there still is a huge unexplored market for movie rentals. There are no companies that provide services like Netflix, and stores rule the market. If Apple uses the iTunes name for Movie Rentals, it will be a succes in Europe, either way.

i think the only hope for gaddafi would have been a quick repression of the rebel forces.
the longer this drags out, the least support gaddafi will have internally and at some point he will lose the army and then it's game over for him.
we can only hope that that point will be reached with as little casualties as possible.
the good part is that it doesn't appears that the fundamentalists have or will manage to hijack the revolution.
does anyone have a link to a map of the political changes in north africa/middle east, meaning which factions seem to be acquiring strenght in the various areas?
so far it seems to me that fundamentalists are not coming out as dominant anywhere (perhaps bahrein?)

these prices seem a lot more like what I was thinking. Wishful? maybe, but this would be aggressive pricing, not keeping the current 17" and 20" where they are and throwing the 23" way over their marks.

Just the natural progression of things. And 17" definitely needs to be relegated to Education Only (I could see them being sold to some businesses too, perhaps), lest it either cannibalize the Mac mini at its too-reduced price, or seem like way too little for the money.

Currently, prices of Xeons seem to hover between $500 and $1000. And note: these are RETAIL PRICES for consumers! Apple's prices for those CPU's would be considerably less. So I don't see Apple having any problems offering quad-Woodcrest for under $4000. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if we saw quad-Woodcrest for under $3000!Gee I hope you're right. All I have is an iPod mini from 2005. I use it almost everyday, but the battery is fried and I need an upgrade. I'd probably go for a 220GB, but I absolutely do not need a touch screen. Someone else remarked about the click wheel being easier to use in tactile-only situations, which for me is 99% of the time I'm using it. I bike to work and don't want to take the thing out of my pocket to change the volume, skip tracks, etc.
But Apple isn't about niche products, so I don't know what sort of chance the Classic stands. Probably not good, I'm guessing.

I love the adoption of iMovies people detection and shot detection features... this is great.... rolling shutter fixing is a feature adobe previewed but typical for apple they do it on import, rather than as an "effect" you can add.

Bet the combo and Superdrives are all unchanged-the suppliers the same as February's model. And all Core Duo makes sense.
No HDMI or Blu-Ray though (but could jack the price up-so best left for 24" iMac's first revision in 2007)
